Here's what hit me today...
Mark 5:14-17
The herdsmen fled to the nearby town and the surrounding countryside, spreading the news as they ran. People rushed out to see what had happened. A crowd soon gathered around Jesus, and they saw the man who had been possessed by the legion of demons. He was sitting there fully clothed and perfectly sane, and they were all afraid. Then those who had seen what happened told the others about the demon-possessed man and the pigs. And the crowd began pleading with Jesus to go away and leave them alone.
..sitting there, dressed and in his right mind; and they were afraid.
Why do some verses stick with you?
That line, sitting there, dressed and in his right mind. It's a verse I recall so often.
A man who for years had been tormented by demons and had terrorized others was sitting politely...in his right mind.
The reaction? Not WOW! Not praise for a miracle.
No, they were afraid. Afraid!
What a strange reaction to an amazing event. No one could any longer subdue him. He'd rip off his shackles...and now, now that he is quiet, they are afraid.
Normally when Jesus performs a miracle the people with needs come out of the woodwork.
This time, one simple request. Please leave town today.
If God were to unleash His power before your eyes today, how would you react?
