I had a few people ask for this quote today, so decided to post it.
I use this paragraph every day in my prayer time and ask God's Spirit to reveal the sin in my heart and life.
I added a couple of the sentences that I left off this morning:
Sin is what you do when your heart is not satisfied with God. No one sins out of duty. We sin because it holds some promise of happiness. The promise enslaves us until we believe that God is more to be desired than life itself. Which means that the power of sin’s promise is broken by the power of God’s. All that God promises to be for us in Jesus stands over and against what sin promises to be for us without Him.
Here's the question to ponder...
Where do I try to find satisfaction other than God?
